Unions -Teachers have started joining the winning Kenya Kwanza government following the recent victory of William Ruto as the president elect.
Giant teachers’ organisations Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) have changed tune following the recent victory of Deputy President William Ruto.
Led by KUPPET Secretary General Akelo Misori, they stated that Ruto makes a good and hardworking leader to help the teaching sector attain milestone.
“We extend our congratulations to President-elect William Samoei Ruto and affirm our commitment to deepening our partnership with the government in the interest of Kenyan teachers and the education sector as a whole,” Misori stated.
On the other hand, KNUT led by Secretary General Collin Oyuu said by William Ruto beating his fierce rival Raila Odinga, it had become inevitable to ignore him anymore.
“Pursuit for political leadership calls for intensive persuasion to the population towards winning their support to our dream positions; this you have done and won the hearts of more Kenyans than your competitors,” he noted.
Both organisations have since pledged to start working with the government of the day in the spirit of unity and development.
