Market -Government of Kenya has ordered reduced maize flour prices after injecting massive subsidy into the production of the product.
From today, producers will receive a fraction of reimbursement from the State so that to help in the production of flour product in the country following a huge public outcry on high cost of living.
For that reason, effective Monday July 18, every retailer will have to sell unga at the new price of sh 100 per kilogram; a drop from sh 230.
It further clarified that 1-kilogram of packet will be going at sh 52 while 500-gram packet retails at a maximum of sh 30.
This subsidy will, however, go for only one month before prices stabilise.
