Business -Riley Falcon Security Limited managed to successfully join the largest few security guard firms in the country. It was launched in 1987.
It now prides itself with immense success having grabbed the local market due to its expertise in service delivery which the founder describes as ‘customized’.
The firm was a brainchild of a Luo young man which started its operations in Kisumu Milimani Estate in a shaky rental house that only cost him sh 6000 every month. He likes referring to the room as an abandoned servant quarters.
The founder Mr. Julius Abiero revealed that his firm was started at the time Kenya was facing one of the dangerous elections in the history of the country.
Now 30 years in the industry, Riley Falcon Security Limited has grown into a monster with over 4000 security guards scattered around the country. Some of the notable branches are in Nairobi, Eldoret, Embu etc. Where they don’t have offices, they have workers on the ground.
As of now, the firm records an annual turn-over of sh 1.4 billion which is not so bad for a business that started in the manner Falcon started.
Obiero, in this interview, divulged that they found their big break when they landed Sondu Miriu Hydroelectric Power Station Project. Through this single mega contract, the firm had to hire at once, a total of 200 staffers. They had to double their human resource overnight.
He further stated that in 2019, the company became a member of the 101 in the Annual Top 100 competition which was organized by the National Media Group’s Business Daily desk. Their profile was therefore growing steadily and business continued streaming in every day and since then the company has remained stable.
Some of their well-known clients are corporate bodies which include Aga Khan Hospital, United Millers Limited and KCB Group among many others.
