eCommerce –A brand-new eCommerce shop similar to Jumia has been launched in Kenya to help families access groceries with ease.
Founded by Sam Chappatte – former Jumia executive- the online marketplace allows consumers to buy greens and fruits at a much lower price.
Customer’s will be able to buy the commodities both through online and offline channels on Kapu.com platform.
The founder announced during its launch that took place at Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi that they seek to revolutionize the way consumers shop for food stuffs.
Mr. Chappatte reported that his Kapu firm acquired a multi-million funding worth $8 million in January this year. The funding was courtesy of a group of investors.
And using the funding, it will be able to expand its market through local agents, support WhatsApp orders and also to boost its service delivery.
The selling arrangement allows clients to affordably make a 30 percent less on the cost of goods through bulk buying directly from both manufactures and producers.
The firm sources directly from farms and manufacturers, creating a low-cost logistics model and minimal food waste.
Furthermore, if the clients decide to pull together resources to make a bulk purchase, the price may even go down farther.
