Blogging Tips -Many guys are now turning to blogging business because they have seen some of their friends run wildly outlandish blogs that generate unimaginable income every day.
A well-managed blog business could earn in a lot of money in revenues from advertisers but one thing that every enthusiast must accept is the reality of burning long hours and days running the blog.
I have met some people who go into blogging thinking its a ponze scheme where money just comes in after a few months. That is a far fetched notion and they have failed spectacularly. Blogs, just like any other business, take a longer time to grow. To earn any dollar from your blog, will require patience and strategy.
Below are the few advantages of owning a blog according to our own research and experience
It could turn to be a lucrative idea: There are many examples of bloggers making a killing – but I bet they work very hard too.
Flexibility: This makes one of the reasons I went into blogging. Unless your blog idea has special needs (e.g. you review NYC restaurants), you can work from anywhere at (almost) any time.
Keep on learning new things: During these years I’ve also had to learn new things and face constant challenges (e.g. SEO, email marketing, content marketing, etc.). I’ve even met some very exciting people in the industry and shared quite a lot together.
Becoming your own boss: You have absolute control over your business direction. Bad or good, you are the one calling the shots all the time.
Feels good (at least to many): It’s gratifying to write a piece of content knowing that it’ll not only be helpful to dozens of people but also be read by thousands of them.
Not everyone is lucky to succeed: You’ll see plenty of people showing off how much money they are making from their blogs. However, be aware that not everyone makes it.
It can be lonely due to working alone: Unless your project grows a lot, you are most likely to work by yourself so it can feel isolating at times. You can always join a co-working space to socialize or alternatively break the monotony by checking into a public cyber corner where you can see the world as you work.
You’ll need (some) technical knowledge: You don’t have to be a graduate engineer. However, running a blog requires some technical knowledge. At least, you should be willing to learn. This is because hiring a web designer to maintain every bit of your blog is cumbersome and expensive. You will need to fix some things alone. Golden rule – Be a friend of Youtube.
You’ll work long hours: This point can’t be over-emphasized. Be aware that creating your own blog is like starting any other business. If you are to be successful, you’ll have to work harder than your competitors.
Slow burner/growth: I would be lying to claim that I have met anyone who was lucky enough to start making a decent living from their blog in 2 months time. I would say you should be looking at 1 year (at least) before you start seeing any meaningful progress.
It goes without saying that persistence is what has created all the big blogs you keep admiring on the internet.
