Vendors –Smokie and boiled eggs vendors in Nairobi make at least 6,000 in six hours they work on the streets.
A popular social media user by the name Alnur Mohamed had a session with vendors in the CBD and shared their conversations with him.
In his X-Platform post on Wednesday March 20, Mohamed revealed that a guy who sold him a smokie on Tuesday shared that they can make sh 6,000 in only six hours.
“Yesterday, I had a conversation na hawa wasee wa smokie na mayai. These guys make money. Big money than working full time kwa ofisi. Pesa imebaki kwa hizi vitu hivi hivi. Imagine msee ameingia jioni 6 atoke around midnight. He told me the least money he can make as a profit in those 6 hours is 6000,” Alnur disclosed.
The eggs seller also revealed to him that he reports at work on Friday morning when County askaris are away on duty and that is when he makes a killing.
“He told me from Friday huingia hasubuhi kanjo Askaris huwa hawasumbui. Hapo anamake 7k clean for 3 days. That isa clean 21k. Aki tujitume pesa iko watu wangu. Keep your degree and diplomas aside na utafute pesa”.
Vendors in Nairobi have been rising in numbers and, recently, they were involved in an altercation with authorities which want them out of the CBD.
County Government of Nairobi has designated a space for the vendors and it is pushing to see them relocated to the area.
