Jobs –Government is planning to recruit close to 3,000 trainers for Technical and Vocational Education Training TVET colleges.
This is meant to curb the shortage of trainers in middle-level colleges around the country after a spike in the number of learners currently joining the institutions.
In recent times, the shortage of tutors has resulted into poor service delivery in training institutions in the country as well as increased complaints in salary scales as a result of few overworked staff.
According to the Ministry of Education, the government sees TVET training as matching well with the recently launched competency-based curriculum (CBC) academic system.
The newly launched system now replacing the famous 844 is meant to help improve hands on/ practical lessons which pundits have approved as the best method if well implemented.
This CBC, however, is also facing its fair share on resistance from stakeholders who claim it was hurriedly introduced before proper training was conducted.
