Twitter Charges –Elon Musk has officially announced a $8 or sh 971.6 monthly subscription fee for verified users.
In his Wednesday early morning post, the new owner of Twitter argued that this amount is part of the new long-term revenue strategy for his company which can nolonger depend on advertisement alone.
The businessman also added that, to do away with bots and fakes, it was important to introduce these charges for vigilance.
“Power to the people! Blue for $8/month,” he tweeted, in reference to the platform’s famous blue checkmark that signals a verified and authentic account.
“This will also give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators,” Musk tweeted again before he asserted that the decision was final and that those who may want to quit are free to do so.
“We need to pay the bills somehow. To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8.
“Twitter cannot rely entirely on advertisers. How about $8?” Musk went on.
The world’s richest businessman made this communication just days after taking over the popular social media platform as a sole owner.
Elon acquired Twitter at a staggering $44 Billion deal sending anxiety among many users who argued that he would use it to control the world and, maybe, bring back the banned Donald Trump.
He also runs both Tesla as well as Space X multi-billion companies.
