Zuckerberg Gives Birth to Threads App; a Rival of Twitter

Social Tech –The world has continued joining the new social App launched on the internet by tech-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg, on Thursday July 6, introduced an App dubbed Threads App which he described as the right rival of Twitter.

This App is coming amid corporate fight between the Facebook founder and the new Twitter owner Elon Musk who has been making so many changes on Twitter interactivity.

Experts say, on their part, say Threads App could attract Twitter users unhappy with recent changes to the platform.

As Threads allows users to post up to 500 characters, Elon Musk-owned Twitter only allows 280 or about there unless you are verified.

Zuckerberg wants to keep the App user-friendly so that to make it not only a success but also to bring on board Twitter users who are nolonger happy with Mr. Musk’s daily interruptions.

“Bigger than Twitter”, Mr Zuckerberg said: “It’ll take some time, but I think there should be a public conversations App with 1 billion+ people on it.

“Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn’t nailed it. Hopefully we will” Zuckerberg noted.

On Threads, posts can be shared to Instagram and vice versa and can include links, photos, and videos of up to five minutes in length.

However, some early users on Wednesday July 5 reported problems when uploading images, hinting at teething problems that need addressed by the software developers.

BBC.com relayed that, while Threads stresses ties to Instagram, media coverage has focused on its similarity to Twitter, with some investors describing the app as a “Twitter killer”.

Since Mr Musk took over, many users of Twitter have publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the platform and his stewardship.

In fact, some users on Twitter have since described Musk’s behavior on Twitter as ‘completely erratic’.

Just last month, Musk and Zuckerberg, in jest, agreed to face off in the world of technology in what was described as ‘martial arts’.
