Tech –Elon Musk-owned Twitter Tech Company has come up with a new logo ‘letter X’ replacing the common Twitter bird Larry.
Making real his threats, the wealthy Twitter owner, Elon Musk, unveiled the simple letter X logo which is free of any colour – just pure black.
“Not sure what subtle clues gave it way, but I like the letter X
“We should stop making our appliances so “smart,” Elon wrote on Sunday July 23.
On Sunday July 23, Musk tweeted about the upcoming logo changes and mentioned that an interim logo featuring a flickering “X” would be unveiled.
In a Twitter Spaces audio chat, he confirmed that the Twitter logo would indeed be replaced, stating that the move was long overdue.
Linda Yaccarino, the company’s chief executive, viewed the rebranding as an exciting opportunity to take Twitter’s legacy brand to new heights, transforming it into the global town square.
“It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square,” Ms Linda remarked.
The Twitter bird, known as Larry, was named as an iconic tribute to the basketball star and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird, as co-founder Biz Stone revealed in 2011.
Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in October 2022, the company has undergone changes, including a shift in the business name to now X Corp.
These changes have seen Twitter launch more features that need one to pay to be able to claim one; among these being the blue tick verification as well subscription feature.
Elon has also renamed the Company as X Corp, this being part of the efforts to rebrand the multi-million giant social media firm.
