Career –Popular female journalist Sharon Barang’a who left TV 47 has now joined the Chinese media station CGTN.
In her latest career updates, the talented news reporter stated that she will, henceforth, be working with the China State broadcaster starting this week.
“This week, I started a new chapter in my career. I appreciate everyone who has been following up on my journey, cheering me up and praying for me,” Barang’a said in a statement.
She joined TV47 in 2020 as an education journalist who was also tasked with handling health reports.
She then worked there for three years before she quit it on Thursday June 29 in what she described as ‘an emotional resignation’.
“It is an emotional day leaving a company that received me warmly when I was going through a rough patch in my life,” she stated in her farewell speech.
She also ran a show dubbed Learning Curve at Nation Media Group’s NTV which aired on every Tuesday at 9 PM.
Additionally, the journalist had short stints as an editor at Ukweli Video Productions and as a scriptwriter at the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology ICT.
Ms Barang’a is a co-founder of a nonprofit organization that supports needy learners in semi-arid regions around the country.
