Blogs–Saudi Arabia and Kenya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU to strengthen their bilateral trade unity.
The National Chambers of Commerce and Industry KNCCI President, Mr. Richard Ngatia, while representing Kenya in the event held in Riyadh City noted that this would be a milestone for both nations.
On the other side, Saudi Arabia was represented by Secretary General for Federations Council of Saudi Chambers FCSC, Mr. Hussein Alabdulkader.
It is expected that 100,000 Kenyans start getting employed in the Gulf Nations in a bid to make the two countries prosper economically.
Media reported that a first session of the Kenya-Saudi Arabia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) was also launched on this day March 13, 2022.
“The JCC framework sets the stage for deeper cooperation and reaffirms the close and robust relations that we have,” Cabinet Secretary for foreign affairs, Raychelle Omamo said as quoted by Metropol.
Previous relations between Kenya and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have seen steady growth and the provision of bilateral cooperation that is strategic, between Kenyan business communities and the UAE
The focus being on trade, joint activities, information, investments, and trade policy support programs.
“Kenya attaches great importance to this event, given its status as a leading service destination and regional manufacturing hub,” Ngatia noted.
Ngatia also observed that the economic relationships between Kenya and the UAE, have increased tremendously since the two countries restored their diplomatic ties.
