New Job –Kenyan female boxing star, Conjestina Achieng, has landed a plum job in a multimillion Coastal club.
The almost fully recovered former ring star, eight months after she was airlifted to a rehabilitation center in Mombasa, will now be staying in Mombasa while at the same time working there.
According to the former Nairobi County boss Mike Mbuvi Sonko, he will not allow her to go back to the her Siaya County rural where she risks sliding back into drugs again.
Sonko, today Wednesday March 29, mentioned that Ms Conjestina will be overall assistant head of security and head of all female bouncers at Club Volume Mombasa Town.
“I have already prepared a good plan for her where she will also be earning a salary. She will be the overall assistant head of security and head of all female bouncers at Club Volume Mombasa at night & during peak hours/holidays.
“She will also serve as the head trainer in all the gyms in our establishments (Salama Bling Beach Resort, Kimeremeta Safari Lodge etc…)” he promised.
As a long term measure, the politician-cum-businessman added that he will plan to open for her a state-of-the-art boxing training centre.
Sports media personality Carol Radull lauded Mike Sonko’s efforts in helping the former boxing champion stand on her own after relatives, fans and friends had lost hope.
Mr. Sonko has been at the center of Conjestina’s rescue plans after her photos had surfaced online in which she was looking washed away.
