Monday, April 11, 2022 –Parents and guardians whose children sat the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary KCPE examination can now check selections through a simple SMS or by visiting the Ministry of Education official website.

Over 1.2 million pupils who sat their exams in March this year can easily check their Secondary School placements so that to know requirements early. Candidates can send only their index number to 22263; alternatively, they can also access their selection results on the ministry’s website www.education.go.ke.

Prof Magoha confirmed that schools can access a complete list of their candidates’ Form One selection through accessing the National Education Management Information System Nemis portal.

A total of 38,797 candidates were placed in national schools, 214,960 in Extra County, 258,456 in county schools, 726,311 in Sub-county schools and 2,045 in special needs schools.

The Cabinet Secretary however noted that his office had noticed that many pupils were not properly guided while selecting their schools.

The CS further promised to work with the Ministry of Interior under the helm of CS Fred Matiang’i to ensure that all learners join secondary schools as required by law.
