Journalist -Renowned Nairobi sports journalist Sean Cardovillis has been announced dead in Nairobi.
The veteran reporter was reportedly discovered dead by a relative in his Nairobi Home on Saturday September 9 morning.
The late, in some sources, had collapsed before dying on the spot after he had suffered a prolonged ailment since last year.
For instance, in 2022, the diseased was admitted to the High Dependency Unit HDU before he would later be diagnosed with severe Pneumonia.
“Sean has been hospitalized for a while now. He is receiving professional treatment and is improving, but needs monitoring and further care,” read the poster appealing for financial support.
Cardovillis, who has worked for major media houses in the country, is among the most renowned sports personalities, with more than 20 years of experience.
Apart from working with Capital FM and Standard Group PLC, he also had a stint at Nation Media Group in the sporting category.
And between 2006 and 2012, he worked for Paradise FM in the Tal FM in the Seychelles; and his career span has seen him record awards including the 2007 BBC Africa Radio Award for sports and the Sport Award at the 2007 CNN/Multichoice African Journalist of the Year Awards.
