Business -Former Chief Executive Officer CEO Tuskys Daniel Githu has opened his own business now doing its stuff online.
After he left the embattled giant retailer which faced a cash crunch a year ago and finally collapsed, Daniel Githu decided to co-found Anko Retail which he describes as an e-commerce platform launched in February 2021.
He revealed the online shop in which he is the chief strategist deals in stocking items just like any supermarket around.
“We stock everything you find in the supermarket such as foodstuffs, personal care and home care products. We also search for unique products; for example, we are stocking blankets from Egypt. There are gaps in the market with respect to non-food items and this is where Anko Retail wants to step in,” he stated.
The founders who include a few other Kenyans from the diaspora wanted to ride on the euphoria of online business especially at this time Covid-19 drove everyone online. They saw a tipping point which they quickly had to utilize.
He however revealed that their main focus is stocking and supplying non-food stuffs like blankets from Egypt et cetera.
The business man revealed that so far the response has been massive and they are not complaining.
