Resignation –Another top journalist at the Standard Group Media House, Dr. Mercy Korir has left for greener pastures.
The journalist finally penned down her resignation letter amid increased measures by the management to contain the exodus of staff from the once giant station in the country.
Korir, a medic by profession, is leaving the station alongside news anchor Sharon Momanyi and seasoned Foreign Affairs Editor, Lilian Odera.
Our source revealed that Dr. Korir has already secured a big role at AAR Hospital and will be their Business Development Manager BDM going forward.
Using her qualifications in medical industry as well as her experience in communication, she is expected to increase AAR visibility around the country.
“As the Hospital’s Business Development Manager, Dr Korir will oversee the hospital’s external communication and brand positioning, establish new business lines and new revenue streams, the statement from AAR read in part.
Ms Korir has been quite an instrumental figure at KTN News reporting on health matters on a regular basis.
While at KTN, she managed to bring heavy viewership to the screens due to her high-level grasp and network in medical industry.
She would always hold health talks with top doctors and clinical officers making it easier for listeners to get solutions of biting health-related matters from her well-curated programme.
Her former colleague, Ms Lilian Odera, may end up running her new-found communication firm dubbed Lisha Communications.
Standard Group, a major media house in the country, has shocked many after it started crumbling down like the Tower of Babel early this year with its staff now silently complaining about both reduced and delayed monthly pay.
