Resignation –Decorated Principal Secretary PS Esther Negro has today resigned from the Kenya Kwanza government citing personal reasons.
President William Ruto noted that he would not stop her from following her dream and wished her well wherever she was heading.
On Tuesday, May 23, Ruto accepted her resignation as Principal Secretary for Correctional Services.
“The Head of State has conveyed his gratitude to Ngero for her service to the nation and wished her the very best in all her future endeavours,” the statement read partly.
Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, stated that the outgoing PS had recently been reassigned from the State Department for Performance Management and Delivery Services in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the State Department for Correctional Services within the Ministry of Interior & National Administration.
She is a certified accountant who joined the ranks of Principal Secretaries in December 2022, after amassing an almost two-decades career in the million dollar energy sector.
Ngero attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies and Mathematics at Kenyatta University in August 2002 and later pursued a professional certification in Petroleum Stocks Control and Management at the Kenya School of Petroleum Studies.
Ngero then became an assistant accountant at the National Oil Corporation of Kenya NOCK in August 2004.
She then went to Dalbit Petroleum Limited as Operations Manager, quickly rose through the ranks to Chief Officer level in the Petroleum Supply Chain and Trading department.
The corporate guru was tasked with optimizing Group’s petroleum business operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Eastern and Southern DRC, Southern Sudan, Uganda and Mauritius.
After a 12-year stint at the company, in January 2020, she transitioned to become the Chief Executive Officer of Janus Continental Group with headquarters in Dubai.
Her profile indicates that she is proficient manager who is always dedicated to multinational business activities with a high-level organizational culture.
