Business -She started by hawking serviettes to cafes around the city and today she owns a business empire Crystal Africa Cleaning Services Limited with over 150 employees.
Ms Anyiti Nanyama, in her past lengthy interview, revealed how they started a business three people but she later found herself alone when the rest took off because of challenges.
Trading in cleaning services, they couldn’t find easy clients and life was that difficult forcing all her partners she had invited on board to flee, silently.
She however kept pushing on by scouting for clients in residential areas where she would offer cleaning services and garbage collection. The client base started expanding slowly and within a few years, it became a stable venture upto today.
“When I started my business, I met a friend in town. I was carrying serviettes to supply to Café Deli in those town mkokotenis. They laughed at me. Thank God I didn’t quit.
“Today my darlings, I employ 150 people and I am able to provide myself an amazing life. I am grateful I didn’t stop,” the visionary business lady said.

She is currently providing her cleaning services to areas like Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru; and boasts of huge profits every day.
The Strathmore University Alumni today has more than 50 stable contracts with reputable clients among them companies, more than 150 employees, a fully functional office, necessary equipment and a full time job which she pays herself sh 140,000 per month.
‘‘I am where I am today because I had the patience and determination to save the investment in spite of the turbulence,’’ she says.
Her other early startups which never saw the light of day are hawking sweets, clothes and jewelry. All these business ideas failed shortly after they were started.
